Blue Skittlette

Hi guys ! Hope you are having a great week so far. Mine has been super busy so far.

Today I'm sharing a fun blue skittlette with you. For Christmas my brother got me a MoYou stamping plate - MoYou Sailor Collection stamping plate 07 . (did I mention I have the COOLEST brother ever ??? )

I loved all the designs on the plate, but the first one I tried out was this cool swirly design. I just have to say these plates are EXCELLENT quality . I will be getting a few more soon.

For this mani I used -
Pinky - OPI Liquid Sand Get Your Number
Ring and Middle Finger - OPI Alpine Snow stamped with Essence Black stampy Polish topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust ( I did mention how obsessed I am with Fairy Dust )
Index and Thumb - OPI Can't Find My Czechbook topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust .

So onto the nail look -

I hope you like this blue skittlette look as much as I do. I really can't wait to show you more of the looks I created using this amazing stamping plate.

How has your week been so far ?

Revlon Skittlette Mani ♥

Hi guys ! Hope you all had a stunning weekend. Mine was busy , Alex's birthday is Saturday and I'm a busy body planning all the details...

Today I'm showing you a skittlette mani I did using the Revlon 3D For Jewel Appliques Wild Flowers . For this mani I used the set called Brocade Garden , this is a gorgeous pink girly flowery design.

The appliques doesn't dry out as these aren't made of nail polish. The strip sizes are also pretty versatile (I  have small nail beds and struggle to find sizes that fit usually ) but didn't have any issues here. The design also has a bit of a 3D effect with the dark pink flowers, which is pretty cool . The set comes with 16 strips , so enough for a full mani or use as accent nails like I did. I found these pretty easy to use . Just be careful if you want to top coat these beauties... Seche Vite and quick drying top coats don't blend well with them. But any normal top coat will work perfectly. I wore this look for three days and had no issues with the strips lifting , I did seal mine with a top coat though.

For the other nails I used 2 of the Revlon Perfumerie range - The Yellow is Sunlit Grass and the gorgeous pink is African Tea Rose. I reviewed them both HERE . And added two golden studs on two of the pink nails.

So let me share the look with you guys ...
I really liked the outcome... even with the yellow . These packs retail for R89,95 each comes in a bunch of fun designs to choose from. As I mentioned earlier, I do prefer them for accent nails , but these would make an fantastic special occasion nails .

How was your weekend ??
*The polishes was provided for me for review but any opinions about the product/s are my own*

Some of my Favourite Nail Care Items at Work

Hi guys ! Hope your having a great week so far . This week has really flown !

As I mentioned earlier this week, today I will share some of my favourite nail items for at work (and at home ) . These are products that work amazing on me , if you have an awesome hand cream you love, feel free to give me a few suggestions,I always love to hear about new products. So enough about my rambling, let me get to the goodies.

1 & 2 - Oh So Heavenly Waterless Hand Cleansers
Here I am not to picky about the scent, I love how you can use this on the go and I always carry some in my bag . You never know when you might need to freshen up and won't be able to quickly wash your hands. (They retail for around R9 each )
3 ) Essence Gel Nails At Home Super Rich Hand and Nail Cream -
First off, I REALLY like that these are budget friendly. (About R20) This cream is nice and moisturising and absorbs really quickly . For me this is another huge bonus, as I can't sit and wait for hand creams to absorb at work especially when I type or print out documents.
4 ) Oh So Heavenly Creme Oil Collection Hand Cream -
This is one I love when I have a few minutes spare (or at home ) . These Creme Oil Collection is SUPER moisturising , but takes a little while to completely absorb. (About R25)
5 ) OPI Avojuice Skin Quenchers Hand Lotions -
These are my FAVOURITE by far. Not only do these smell amazing , the absorb so quickly and really moisturise your hands fantastically. Currently I have the Pumpkin Butter Juice, Berry Merry Rose Juice , Jasmine and Coconut Melon . I also have a HUGE of the Pumpkin Butter next to my bed that I use before I go to bed at night. But this is my go to lotion at work. I always make sure got a ton of backup bottles of these precious beauties. These are a little pricier though .. You can get these at Perfect 10 for around R40 each.
6 ) Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream -
With the extremely hot weather we were having recently (especially with air cons on that is extra drying on the skin ) this is a super moisturising hand cream. This one is a little greasy, and that's why I usually use it before bedtime. The consistency is almost the same as Vaseline , but this does work wonders. It's also one of my favourites in winter time when it's cooler and your hands dry out quicker. (About R85)
7 ) Hey Gorgeous SA Shea and Mango Hand Mask -
First off, I know this is a hand mask, and I do use it as a mask too. But most nights (especially if I spend some time in the pool or it was extremely hot like the weather we had lately ) I will make sure I dampen my hands first, and then rub a small amount completely into my hands . I will follow this with some cotton moisturising gloves overnight and wake up with baby soft hands. This has a light smell of fresh mangoes (YUM!) I love that this product is Proudly South African and uses completely natural ingredients too.... Pop into their website and check out there awesome products ... Hey Gorgeous SA . They do deliver internationally too . (R120 )

Now , since I know I'm picky about the consistency and texture of creams , I'm showing a photo of each too -
The Essence Gel Nails At Home Super Rich Nail Cream is a thicker cream . It does smell faintly of sunscreen. It might look thicker but this absorbs really fast.
The Oh So Heavenly Creme Oil Hand Creme also has the same consistency as the Essence one. It is a thicker cream and smells fantastic, but since it got nourishing oils, it does take a while to completely absorb.
The OPI Avojuice Skin Quenchers lotion is quite a thin lotion as you can see. But it's super moisturising and really absorbs quickly. I love how it instantly soothes dry hands.
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream - As I mentioned above this is a greasy cream that has the same consistency as Vaseline. This one really needs a while to absorb but a little goes a long way though.
The Hey Gorgeous SA hand mask is a nourishing mask (but I use it as a cream too) . This really moisturises fantastically . I use this with some cotton moisturising gloves overnight .

So that's my favourite hand creams . Hope you enjoyed reading about some of my favourites. What is your favourite hand cream ??

Back To Work : Best Nude Polishes

Hi guys ! Hope you had an amazing weekend ! I was so glad about the little cooler weather yesterday, seriously the heatwave wasn't the most fun thing ever.

So since most of you been back at work since last week, I decided to make a special post about some gorgeous goodies for your hands and nails this week to get you back in the work spirit . (Actually who am I kidding no one wants to be back. )

I know most of you can't wear crazy bold colours to work, so I've put together some of my favourite nude nail polishes for you . All of these are amazing formula wise, and are all my my personal favourite for work too.  All these polishes has a pretty decent formula, and I used two coats of all the polishes shown below. (Except on the Seche colour one, that was a 1coater)

So here's my 12 favourite nude polishes -
1) Loreal Rose Bagatelle
A gorgeous rose pink colour . I love the wide brush and how perfectly the colour suits me.
2) OPI My Vampire is Buff
This is another one of my favourite favourites. I LOVE the colour .
3) OPI Don 't Pretzel my Buttons
This one is a little darker than My Vampire is Buff. I love how this is more beige toned too.
4) Seche Simplicity
This one was a one coater, and the Seche colour range dries pretty fast too . Perfect for when you are in a hurry .
5) Tip Top Nail Addict Oh So Natural
I love that this colour looks a lot like their Clicks range Hot Fudge, without the streaky-ness. This one really glows on your nails.
6) Revlon Elegant
Gorgeous nude polish for work or play.
7) China Glaze Below Deck
Another one of my favourites.I love how this is a little darker (perfect for the darker toned ladies)
8) Nails Inc Soho Mews
This is their leather effect polish, since nude polishes can be fun too.
9)Zoya Godiva
This is the PERFECT nude texture. It looks amazing and makes you feel like a princess. And it sparkles... Enough said.
10) Revlon Stormy Night
Another one on the list for the darker toned ladies. The formula on this one is fantastic and it really applies itself.
11) OPI Make Men Blush
Another gorgeous OPI polish. I LOVE the pink-tone in this one too. Really stunning.
12) China Glaze This One's For You
This one is a glitter though.. But since the glitter is iridescent and the base bends in perfectly with your skintone, this is a fun way to brighten your week at work.

I really hope this helps those of you who emailed me to ask me about my favourite nude polishes. On Wednesday I will showcase my favourite hand creams I use (at work and home)

How was your weekend ?

Sally Hansen Texture Bubble Plum

Hi guys ! Hope everyone had a decent week . It's weekend again ! Whoohoo ! I'm really not liking the heatwave currently happening... Bleh !Anyone got any fun weekend plans ??

Today I'm showing you one of the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat polishes. These are their e textured range of polishes. The first colour from the range that stood out for me was Bubble Plum (seems I'm a huge fan of purple nail polishes lately .. lol ) .

Bubble Plum is a gorgeous medium purple texture nail polish. The formula on this polish seemed a little harder to control than other texture polishes I've tried. For the swatch below I used two coats of Sally Hansen Sugar Coat . Another downside though .. The polish started getting some major tip wear after day three, and from there it just went south really quickly and started chipping really bad. I don't normally wear polishes that long, but since I was in "holiday" mode when I wore this, it was a little disappointing especially since the price tag is R89,95. But non the less it really is a gorgeous colour, and I really liked wearing it. Was such a fun bright summer colour.

Here's the photos of 2 coats of Sally Hansen Bubble Plum -

What are your thoughts on this colour ? Do you have any of the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat range ??

Hearts and Kisses Mani

Hi guys ! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine wasn't the best of weekends, for once I was glad for it to be Monday.

Moving on to my nails, I got another fun mani to share with you today using some more Born Pretty Store water decals.  This time I used some fun kisses and heart inspired mani using THESE cute water decals. The design I'm showing today used the YB-001 set .

The decals are so easy to use and the designs are really fantastic. I love the impressive detail in the water decals, something I would never be able to draw by hand . This design will really be PERFECT for Valentines day too.

Here's how they work -
  1. First take of the little plastic film from the decals .
  2. Simply cut out the design you love .
  3. Get a glass of room temperature water .
  4. Taking a pair of tweezers, lightly the design in the water .
  5. Leave it there for about 10 - 20 seconds and then using the tweezers take them out
  6. Gently slide the white backing off .
  7. Using the tweezers gentle place them on the nail
  8. Give it a few seconds so the water dries completely .. you can even blot it with a tissue to speed it up.
  9. Topcoat and VOILA... Gorgeous nail art .
Here's the mani I created using some kisses and heart decals  -

The polishes I used for this mani was -
Essence Hallo Marshmallow , Essence As Long as You Love Me (From their Justin Bieber collection) and Miss Signature Special Effect Glitter in Drama .

The Born Pretty store stocks tons of gorgeous water decals , so there will be one to suit every taste and occasion. I love how easy to use they are , and take virtually no effort at all to have gorgeous nail art.

Revlon Lip Butters

Hi guys ! I really can't believe its weekend already ! This week has really flown by .

Today I'm bringing another beauty post for you . When I first started blogging, they were weekly features , and I really wanted to bring them back . They wont be weekly features anymore, but more of an occasional post.

Today I'm sharing some gorgeous Revlon Lip Butters with you . I got one from a newer range to review a while back, and instantly fell in love. When I went to Clicks last week, I found these ones on sale (R39,95 ) and picked up a few more. So today I will be sharing the 4 colours I picked up with you . I got Sugar Frosting, Gumdrop, Creamsicle and Sweet Tart.

First off - The formula on these beauties are AMAZE-BALLS ! I really struggle to find lip products since I'm really sensitive to most lipstick and lipbalm brands, so I was really impressed that these worked perfectly on me. I found them SUPER moisturising and the colours are sheer but buildable which I loved too .

The colour doesn't last forever , but since it is a lip butter I wasn't expecting whole day colour. The colour did last a good two hours on me before fading slowly . (That includes eating and drinking ) . I also loved that the colour didn't feather off ... A HUGE bonus is my books. These all make perfect day time lip looks.

So onto the swatches -

Sugar Frosting is a pale pink colour. I love that it's light and girly. I really thought this one would have been my favourite, but that honour goes to Gumdrop.

Gumdrop is a sheer pale lilac. I only have one word for this colour - GORGEOUS ! This turned out to be my favourite of the four, so much that I bought not one but two back ups of this colour.

Creamsicle is very pale warm peachy shade. Perfect for a nude-ish make-up daytime look.

Sweet Tart is a bright cool pink. I really like this colour too, and it would be so perfect for a nighttime look too.

As I mentioned, Clicks has these babies on special currently for R39,95 until the 12th .... If you see them RUN ! Don't just walk to the bin and grab yourself one. (Or two or three... hey no one's judging.. hee hee hee ) .

Did you pick up any of these beauties ??? Any fun weekend plans ???

Mirror Mirror on The Wall...

Hi guys ! Hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Today I'm sharing another water decal mani with your from the Born Pretty Store with you.  The decals instantly made me think of Snow White, especially the "Evil Queen" looking lady and the gorgeous lipsticks in the mirror.

The decals I used was YB-004 from THIS link, and I used the Evil Queen, lipstick in the mirror and a lipstick mark decal for this mani. . The decals are so easy to use and the designs are really fantastic. I love the impressive detail in the water decals, something I would never be able to draw by hand .

Here's how the decals looked this time round -

Here's how they work -
  1. First take of the little plastic film from the decals .
  2. Simply cut out the design you love .
  3. Get a glass of room temperature water .
  4. Taking a pair of tweezers, lightly the design in the water .
  5. Leave it there for about 10 - 20 seconds and then using the tweezers take them out
  6. Gently slide the white backing off .
  7. Using the tweezers gentle place them on the nail
  8. Give it a few seconds so the water dries completely .. you can even blot it with a tissue to speed it up.
